Caretaker Opportunity at Ripple Education

At Ripple Education, we are an Education Supply Agency providing high-quality supply teachers and support staff to schools in the North East.
We are looking for a committed Caretaker to join our team and work in a school in the Hexham/Haydon Bridge area.
About the Role

Person Specification: Minimum Essential Requirements
- Right to work in the UK
- Minimum of 2 references
- Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce)
- Already on the Update Service or willing to undertake it

Experience & Qualifications (Preferred but not Essential)
- Experience working as a caretaker and/or site manager
- Experience working in a school environment
Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and Repairs:
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs across school premises to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment.

Health and Safety Compliance:
- Regularly inspect the school for potential hazards, ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations.

Site Security:
- Open and close the school
- Manage alarms and ensure premises are secure at all times
- Handle out-of-hours emergencies if required

Cleaning and Tidiness:
- Oversee general cleanliness of communal areas
- Manage waste disposal
- Ensure classrooms, hallways, and other areas are presentable

Support for School Events:
- Assist with setting up and taking down equipment and furniture for events, meetings, or assemblies as needed.
Work-Related Circumstances
- Ability to work flexibly
- Willingness to participate in training
- Strong commitment to ensuring a safe environment for children
- Thorough knowledge of safeguarding procedures
