Role Description

The Careworker role at Helto Support is a full-time, on-site position located in Accrington. In this role, the Careworker provides person-centered support, including assistance with personal care, mobility, and everyday tasks such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication prompts in line with company policies. The Careworker helps individuals maintain independence by offering emotional support, companionship, and encouragement to participate in social and community activities.

  • Communicating effectively with colleagues, families, and other professionals

The role also involves adhering to health and safety guidelines and safeguarding procedures to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all individuals receiving support.

Qualifications

  • Ability to provide compassionate, person-centered care and support, respecting individual choices and cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and positive relationships with individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • Reliability, time management, and organizational skills to follow care plans and complete daily tasks accurately.
  • Basic record-keeping and observational skills to document care activities and report changes in wellbeing.
  • Awareness of safeguarding, confidentiality, and health and safety standards in a care setting.
  • Willingness to complete relevant care certifications or training (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent) if not already obtained.
  • Previous experience in a care, support, or similar role is beneficial but not mandatory; a genuine interest in supporting others is essential.
  • Ability to work on-site in Accrington, including flexibility for shifts, evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
