Carpenter Co-worker
Job Title: Carpenter (Milton Keynes)
IKEA Milton Keynes are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join their dedicated team. This role entails transforming raw wood into essential structural components for showrooms, including building walls, platforms, raised floors, and shaping materials such as MDF, plywood, and panels.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct walls, platforms, podiums, fixtures, flooring, and complete furniture installations as per work briefs.
- Plan and order materials while ensuring accurate cost estimation to maximise efficiency.
- Maintain store conditions to inspire customers and reduce shop-floor disruption.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a visually appealing and functional retail environment.
- Prioritise safety at all times and take immediate action if hazards arise.
What We Offer
- Start Date: July
- Rate: Starting salary of £29,577 per annum (based on competence/experience— negotiable).
- Workdays: 39 hours per week (Monday–Friday), typically 06:30 AM–03:00 PM (early shifts required).

Experience & Skills
- Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 Diploma (Wood Occupations/Site Carpentry) or equivalent (e.g., carpentry certification).
- Desirable (not mandatory):
- Prior experience in retail fit-outs, exhibition installations, or tiling/flooring.
- Passion for design, home furnishing/evolution, and creativity to inspire customers.
- Work preferences:
- Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and convey ideas both verbally and visually.
- Legally required:
- Must be 18+ years old due to Health & Safety.
