Approximately £45,000 per year (self-employed basis)


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Skilled Carpenter to specialise in fire door maintenance, remedial works, and installations across London, with the majority of work based in Central London. This is an ideal opportunity for a motivated carpenter who:

  • Practical in producing high-quality work
  • Understands the importance of fire safety compliance
  • Seeks consistent, long-term work with an established company

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out fire door installations to the highest standards
  • Perform fire door maintenance, repairs, and remedial works
  • Ensure full compliance with current fire safety regulations and industry best practices
  • Adhere to BM TRADA fire door installation and maintenance requirements
  • Accurately identify defects and carry out compliant repairs as needed
  • Complete job documentation and maintain effective communication with the office team
  • Present a professional and courteous approach when working on client sites
  • Work independently while contributing to a wider team

Essential Requirements

  • Proven carpentry experience, ideally with a strong background in fire doors
  • Solid understanding of BM TRADA scheme requirements and fire door compliance standards
  • Experience in:
    • Installing, maintaining, and repairing fire doors
  • Excellent spoken English and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ownership of a full set of professional carpentry tools
  • Full UK work rights
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred)
