£30,866 – £36,135 plus 15% weekend shift allowance
39 hours per week
Working Pattern
- Saturday – Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00
- Friday: 08:00 – 16:00
- 1 in 3 weekends (rota)
- 15% allowance for weekend working
The Role
Join a stable, long-term contract at HMP Risley, working as part of a facilities team delivering essential maintenance across the prison. This is a single-site role with good structure, job security and a supportive team environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- General joinery repairs (doors, windows, fixtures, bespoke work)
- Running the workshop (equipment checks, inspections, housekeeping)
- Measuring jobs and quoting works
- Ordering materials and managing stock

What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 Carpentry & Joinery (Level 2 considered with experience)
- Maintenance or FM background preferred
- Confident using tools and working at height (ladders)
- Good attention to detail
Security Clearance Required
Prison security clearance + Standard DBS (full support provided)
