Lecturer in Carpentry
Location: Langley/Slough, Berkshire
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)
Salary: £31,633 – £45,341 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Carpentry professional to join a leading further education provider in the Langley/Slough area as a Lecturer in Carpentry.
This rewarding role involves delivering engaging practical and theory-based teaching to students studying Level 1 and Level 2 Carpentry, helping to develop the next generation of skilled tradespeople. You'll plan and deliver lessons, assess learner progress, provide academic and pastoral support, and contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum.
The Role
As a Lecturer In Carpentry, You Will
- Deliver high-quality teaching across Level 1 and Level 2 Carpentry programmes.
- Plan lessons and develop schemes of work.
- Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Act as a personal tutor, supporting students throughout their learning journey.
- Maintain accurate student records and contribute to quality assurance activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, employers, and other stakeholders to enhance learner outcomes.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Level 2 qualification or above in Site Carpentry or Bench Joinery.
- Level 2 English and Maths qualifications.
- Experience teaching or training within a vocational carpentry or construction environment.
- Strong organisational and classroom management skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and delivering an outstanding learner experience.

A recognised teaching qualification (Level 4 or Level 5) and assessor qualifications are desirable but not essential.
