The Children’s Montessori & Preparatory School (CMS) is a small, well-established private school located in the heart of downtown Peterborough, Ontario. CMS offers Preschool to Grade 8 in an inclusive, collaborative and diverse learning environment.
We are currently seeking a full-time Assistant Teacher for our Casa 2 classroom (kindergarten-aged/4 to 6 yrs). Our school environment is a wonderful place to work alongside a professional, fun, experienced and energetic team!
Job Roles
Build positive relationships with children and families. Help maintain a safe, clean and developmentally prepared classroom environment. Be reliable, supportive and enthusiastic to work as a team. Have excellent communication skills. Be able to assist the head teacher with classroom maintenance, behaviour management, recess supervision, planning, and facilitating lessons and Montessori activities. Attend all mandatory training required by the school; and participate in all school events including open houses and staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teachers and principal.

Required Qualifications
Early Childhood Education diploma (preferred) Montessori training and experience (preferred) Minimum of one year experience in a child care setting Current criminal reference check, vulnerable sector screening will be requested.
