This is an Expression of Interest (EOI) opportunity, available on a lateral move basis only. Applications are open to Core Scottish Government employees only.

Job Title - Casework Officer

Business Area/Directorate - Marine Directorate Licensing and Operations Team

Grade - B1

Advert type - Level Transfer

Duration - Permanent

Eligibility - Expressions of interest are invited from substantive B1 grade colleagues on level transfer from core SG Only.

Skilled Worker sponsorship is not available for this role. As a result, we are unable to appoint candidates who require Skilled Worker sponsorship now or in the future. Applicants must have an existing and ongoing right to work in the UK.

Would you like to be at the heart of delivering Scotland’s Net Zero targets?

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the high-profile Marine Directorate Licensing and Operations Team (MD-LOT) supporting assessment of proposals for Scotland’s offshore energy and supporting infrastructure developments. The offshore energy and ports and harbour applications processed by MD-LOT are highly technical in nature. They often relate to multi-million pound development and infrastructure projects, which make a significant contribution to the Scottish Government’s priorities growing the economy and tackling the climate emergency.

As a Casework Officer you’ll play a key role in project teams to support review and processing of applications, acting as a main point of contact for key internal and external stakeholders providing advice on application matters, compliance and monitoring in line with relevant legislation.

This post qualifies for the MD-LOT pay supplement, currently £5,000 per annum, recognising the specialist expertise and impact the role brings. For staff not currently in receipt of the allowance, it is payable after successful completion of the qualifying period, normally 9 months. Pay supplements are subject to regular review.
