Reports to: Cash Allocation Manager

Job Summary – Purpose of Role:

The role is responsible for all cash allocation activities, including monitoring bank statement uploads, processing incoming receipts, performing bank reconciliations, and managing outgoing payments, while maintaining full compliance with all company procedures and legislative requirements.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Cash Allocation

  • Running manual & automated cash allocation to open AR items
  • Review automatic cash allocations, completing manually where required
  • Raise queries on any unallocated items
  • Deal with allocation requests from all local entities
  • Manage the processing of manual payments / allocations
  • Ad hoc tasks and reporting as required
  • Bank reconciliations / transit accounts

Teamwork & Operational Support

  • Provide cover as and when required for other team members.
  • Assist the EFC Credit control team with the allocation of cash and BACS receipts.
  • Allocation of GL & AP bank transactions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment.

Communication

  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach with internal and external clients.
  • Answer telephone and email enquiries promptly, courteously, and professionally.
  • Communicate effectively across departments to ensure smooth workflow and issue resolution.

Qualifications & Skills:

Essential Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Cash Allocation, Accounts Receivable, Finance Administration, Credit Control, or a similar finance-focused role.
  • Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
  • Good numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable processes and cash application principles.

Desirable Qualifications/Skills

  • Experience working with SAP or similar financial systems.
  • Experience of high-volume cash allocation environments.
  • Understanding of foreign currency transactions and multi-company environments.

Success Measures:

Cash Allocation

  • Cash allocations, manual payments, and bank reconciliations completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Unallocated cash, allocation queries, and local entity requests investigated and resolved promptly.
  • Complete transit account reconciliations in line with company controls and reporting deadlines.
  • Ad hoc reporting completed accurately, maintaining compliance with company policies and controls.

Teamwork & Operational Support

  • Effective support and cover provided to ensure continuity of service and achievement of team objectives.
  • Cash and BACS allocation support delivered to the EFC Credit Control team within agreed service levels.
  • Compliance with all company procedures and legislative requirements.

Communication

  • Professional and customer-focused service delivered to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Telephone, email, and stakeholder enquiries responded to promptly and effectively.
  • Clear communication and strong working relationships maintained to support efficient issue resolution and service delivery.
