Cash & Carry Manager

We are looking for a Cash and Carry Manager to lead our Watford colleagues and store. Reporting to the Area Manager, you will, through your team, ensure the customer service we offer is exceptional by building long-lasting relationships with both current and new customers.

The successful candidate will be an excellent operator, with a flair for making sound commercial customer decisions.

What will you be doing as Store Manager?

  • Maximise the profitability of the Cash & Carry through effective control of sales, margins, and overheads
  • Manage day-to-day product availability through accurate sales forecasting and ordering
  • Create a customer/sales focused working environment
  • Create a positive atmosphere within the Cash & Carry with both employees and customers, encouraging the team to take pride in their work and focus on delivering high levels of customer service
  • Support your Area Manager in maximising commercial sales activities within your Cash & Carry, spotting opportunities for growth by having a high level of knowledge of customers and their requirements and researching new opportunities (some experience of the export market would be desirable but not essential as training will be given)
  • Be aware of our competitors and their pricing so you can feedback to the Area Manager and internal teams as well as discuss with customers how we can improve
  • Oversee and manage debt within your Cash & Carry
  • Responsible for the stock within your Cash & Carry
  • Ensure your Cash & Carry is manned to the expected levels and your team are trained in line with our induction process
  • Liaise with HR to ensure compliance with statutory law requirements are followed
  • Promote a safe working environment within your team and lead by example ensuring all incidents, accidents, and near miss details are reported through the central HR team
  • Ensure you adhere to all health and safety policies and risk assessments, e.g. first aid, fire drills, testing, and MHE checks are completed. Ensure your team are educated on all health and safety processes and procedures within your Cash & Carry

Salary

£40,000 - £45,000 DOE
