Cash & Banking Administrator

Location: Corporate Office, Bedford

Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Overview

The Cash & Banking Administrator is responsible for maintaining the organisation’s cash book, ensuring all cash receipts are posted accurately and allocated in a timely manner. Reporting directly to the Finance team, this role plays a crucial part in managing daily banking activities, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting effective cash flow management.

The ideal candidate will have experience in cash reconciliations within a finance environment, alongside a strong understanding of accounting principles related to cash management. They must demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work punctually within established deadlines.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Ensuring accurate and timely posting of all cash receipts into the organisation’s financial systems.
  • Coordinating cash reconciliations between bank statements, chequebooks, and ledgers to maintain financial integrity.
  • Preparing regular financial reports and maintaining detailed records for audit purposes.
  • Supporting cash flow forecasting and assisting in year-end processes such as close-off and reporting.
  • Acting as a point of contact for colleagues with queries related to cash handling or bank transactions.
  • Adhering to strict protocols for pensions, expense reporting, and reconciliation processes.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the Accounts Payable, Receivable, and Finance teams to support financial operations.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in a finance, cash, banking, or accounts receivable role.
  • Strong reconciliation experience and an understanding of cash management principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, or similar).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions and pivot tables).
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong organisation, and clear communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a large or multi-site organisation.
