Cash Centre Depot Manager

Depot Manager – Cash Services Division Location: Thurrock Cash Centre Hours: 45 hours per week, 5 out of 7 Salary: £45,000 - £49,500 (+ Bonus) Department: Cash Services Reports to: Head of CVIT About the Role We’re looking for a dynamic Depot Manager to lead one of our key operational sites within Cash Services. This is a pivotal role for a strategic, people‑focused leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment where operational excellence and continuous improvement drive success. As Depot Manager, you’ll take ownership of day‑to‑day operations, empower high‑performing teams, and ensure the depot consistently hits service, compliance, and productivity targets. You’ll be the bridge between frontline operations and senior leadership—driving quality, performance, and culture across the site. What You’ll Be Doing Lead & Inspire Oversee daily depot operations to ensure smooth, efficient delivery of all activities. Support the Head of CVIT in executing departmental strategy and achieving business goals. Lead and develop teams including Operational Shift Managers, CIT Drivers, Vault Operatives, and Technicians. Monitor and manage KPIs to maintain the highest performance standards. Manage training needs, development plans, sickness, leave, and staffing levels. Drive Operational Excellence Champion a culture of continuous improvement across the site. Lead workflow optimisation, cost‑saving initiatives, and productivity enhancements. Collaborate closely with finance to ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting, and cost control. Review and refine operational processes to ensure compliance and best practice. Identify opportunities for automation, digitisation, or process enhancement. Connect & Communicate Act as a key liaison with other business units, ensuring strong cross‑functional collaboration. Provide clear performance updates, KPI insights, and improvement plans to senior leadership. Build and maintain a high‑performing, engaged, and accountable team culture. What You’ll Bring Proven leadership experience within operational, logistics, or service‑driven environments. Strong ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams. Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills. Experience managing KPIs, operational workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives. Confident handling HR matters such as investigations, performance management, and employee relations. Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
