Cash Management Accountant
Location: Salford Quays M50 3SP
Contract: 12 month Fixed Term Contract/Secondment
Full-time position: 37.5 hours
Salary: From £30,500 (dependent upon experience)
Hybrid and flexible working options available
1-2 days a week in the office required.
About The Role
Join our Cash Management team within Finance Operations, where you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions across multiple UK and global business units.
This is a hands-on reconciliation-focused position, with approximately 80% of your time dedicated to bank and cash reconciliations. You'll be responsible for performing daily bank reconciliations across multiple banking systems, investigating and resolving reconciling items, posting receipts and payments accurately, and ensuring all activities are completed in line with strict financial controls and compliance requirements.
The remaining 20% of the role involves a variety of ad hoc duties, including supporting process improvement initiatives, contributing to projects, and collaborating with stakeholders across the business to drive efficiencies and resolve cash management queries.
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for ensuring business bank accounts are reconciled daily and reconciling items are investigated and cleared.
- Ensure all receipts are posted and appropriately recorded in a timely and accurate basis in accordance with operational procedures.
- Ensure all payments are appropriately recorded in a timely and accurate basis in accordance with operational procedures.
- Reconciliation of Bupa’s petty cash payments including validation and posting to ledger.
- Dealing with our internal/external customers and all levels via telephone, e-mail and face to face in order to resolve any queries promptly and providing a high standard of customer service.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, building strong supporting relationships with all areas of the business and strive towards breakthrough performance.
- Perform daily operational audit controls on key activities in order to minimise financial irregularities in relation to collection of premiums and payment of claims.
- Perform key reconciliations in line with agreed reconciliation operating model across all bank accounts for all business units in UK Market Unit and Bupa Global

What You’ll Bring
- Educated to degree/graduate level (ideally Finance, Accounting, Maths).
- Proven ability to use complex finance systems.
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail
