Cashier Position at Wild Wing at Canlan Sports

We’re currently looking for an energetic Cashier for Wild Wing at Canlan Sports.
Position Details
- Role: Cashier
- Rate of Pay: $17.60 – $17.80 per hour
- Status: Currently vacant
About the Role
As a Cashier at Wild Wing servicing Canlan Sports, you’ll be the embodiment of our welcoming team culture. In this fast-paced environment, your responsibility is to provide:
- Prompt, courteous, and accurate service to guests
- A positive and proactive attitude while teaming with colleagues
Responsibilities
- Handle payments securely, process gratuities, and manage change accurately
- Process transactions through the SQUIRREL POS system without errors
- Promote menu items, beverages, and current specials
- Assist with opening and closing procedures (shift-dependent)
- Set, maintain, and reset tables as needed (location-dependent)
- Operate and apply knowledge of tableware and bar equipment (skills developed on job)

Qualifications & Requirements
Certifications
A valid Smart Serve (or equivalent such as Serving It Right) certification is mandatory for this position.
Skills & Experience
- Customer service experience—preferably in food & beverage
- Strong communication: Outgoing, friendly, and team-oriented
- POS proficiency: Fast and accurate transaction processing (experience with SQUIRREL preferred)
- Numeracy: Solid working knowledge of basic math (for change, gratuities, etc.)
- Flexibility & reliability: Willingness to work evenings and weekends
- Food & beverage experience is a plus
