Cask Racking Operative (Fixed Term Contract: 14 months, FTC)

Burton-on-Trent, DE14 2BG
Hours & Pattern
40 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern:
- Mornings: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Afternoons: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Carlsberg Britvic is Britain’s largest multi-beverage supplier, widely recognised for iconic and beloved drinks—including:
- Brewed beers: Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, 1664, Poretti, Brooklyn, Hobgoblin, Wainwright (ale favourite).
- Soft drinks: J2O, Robinsons, Tango, London Essence, plus Pepsi in the UK (Pepsi MAX, 7UP, Lipton Iced Tea, RockstarEnergy).

Bridging Carlson Group’s craftsmanship and Britvic’s refreshment legacy, this role empowers you to shape our success in the traditional craft faced into a dynamic carbon-neutral future. Responsibilities
- Meet production targets while maintaining strict plant hygiene and adherence to health & safety protocols.
- Apply meticulous attention to detail—gathering samples daily for quality checks and complying with product specifications.
- Monitor:** fill records, machinery performance & OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), OPEX, and product tracking to minimise losses.
- Operate multiple pieces of machinery, swiftly reporting any mechanical issues.
- Ensuring manual handling procedures for cask movement and other duties remain compliant with regulations.
- Embracing a 5S workplace ethos (Sort, Set-in-order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain).
- Actively contributing to our Zero Accidents Culture by identifying, reporting, and removing workplace hazards.
- Operating Failure Log Templates (FLTs)—training provided if required.
Experience & Key Attributes
- Preferable (but not essential): Industry experience (preferably in production, beverage manufacturing, or logistics).
- Familiarity with OHSHA protocols: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), 5S principles, JT10 processes, predictive/mechanical equipment (PMS).
- Work ethic: Proud team player with a commitment to collaboration and quality in every task.
- Adaptability under pressure, managing tight deadlines.
- Able to work independently when workload demands trainee autonomy, alongside team solidarity.
- Demonstrable continual improvement mindset—remaining highly motivated and eagerness for skill development.
