What your job will be:
Wealthify launched our in-house platform just over 2 years ago – supported by a skilled team of developers, it delivers high automation, high accuracy client money and custody processes supporting over £1.5Bn assets and over 100,000 customers every day. You’ll lead our CASS oversight function and our Platform Operations team – ensuring the platform is automated, scalable, and compliant with regulations as Wealthify grows. This is a Certified role under the FCA’s Senior Manager and Certification Regime, the successful candidate will be required to be assessed as “Fit and Proper” to discharge their CASS Oversight responsibilities. The role reports into the Chief Operating Officer and will include:
- Oversight and ownership of platform operations, including:
- Oversight of the highly automated systems and controls that achieve compliance with the FCA’s CASS rules
- Leading a team of payments and investment operations specialists to manage Assets and Cash management processes on our in-house investment management platform
- Acting as a subject matter expert for all system processes involving cash and investment transactions, working in collaboration with product owners and developers to further develop our platform and controls.
- Leading automation of processes to improve customer experience, operations platform accuracy, scalability and cost efficiency.
- Management of third-party relationships with key partners, including our Client Money banking provider and Custodian
- Responsibility for ensuring Wealthify’s compliance with the FCA’s Client asset (CASS) rules, supporting the CEO (CASS prescribed responsibility holder) in discharging their duties, through regular updates on key CASS matters
- Ownership of the CASS activities and calendar, including sign-offs of daily client money and asset reconciliation, Resolution Pack, CMAR submission, reporting to CASS Management Meeting and Board, maintenance of policies and procedures, and leading on the annual external CASS audit
- Maintaining best practices by keeping up to date with industry and regulatory (CASS) developments

Skills we’re looking for:

- Detailed understanding of the FCA’s client asset (CASS) regulations, and how to translate them into systems and processes
- Knowledge of the investment industry, product wrappers (SIPP, ISA, JISA, and GIA) and direct to consumer platform systems and processes
- Minimum of 5 years of financial services experience, in a CASS role
- Experience of delivering high quality outputs within a robust control and regulatory framework to tight deadlines
- Motivation to be a highly driven, energetic, and robust leader, who can positively engage with the Leadership Team and wider business
- Ability to assess risks, evaluate impacts, and develop appropriate, proportionate responses

- Educated to degree-level
- Excellent analytical ability
- Previous CASS certification would be a plus
- Resilience, confident decision maker and ability to provide effective challenge
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including report writing at senior level
