About the Role

The CASS Office provides a central oversight and advisory function for interpreting and implementing the FCA’s CASS rules within DBAG London Branch. The CASS Office is part of Regulatory Cross Product Operations, within IB, CB Operations & Controls, and oversees systems and controls in place to comply with the CASS rules. The group reports to the DBAG London Branch Board on the effectiveness of controls, and for maintaining the associated governance structure. As part of this role, you will assist with the implementation and management of a CASS oversight framework, and enhance and embed a strong risk-management structure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpreting and Providing Guidance: Interpreting and providing guidance on the application of CASS regulations to products and services DB offers its clients.
  • Monitoring Compliance: Monitoring compliance with CASS requirements across business and operational areas.
  • Risk Management and Governance: Assisting the Client Assets Oversight Officer with all aspects of CASS risk management and governance.
  • Coordination and Management: Coordination and management of internal and external audits and reviews.
  • Technical Advice: Providing technical advice on CASS compliance to businesses and support functions, while promoting regulatory awareness throughout the firm.
  • Control Processes: Design, develop and implement efficient control processes within Operations to ensure compliance with FCA CASS regulations.
  • Regulator Interaction: Interaction with and responding to requests for information from regulators.
  • Rule Changes: Reviewing changes to CASS rules and assessing impact on the Bank’s processes.
  • Quality Assurance: Designing and conducting quality assurance testing to ensure ongoing compliance, while supporting key CASS Committees and Councils.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Advanced Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of UK CASS regulations, gained through experience in financial services, regulator or as an industry practitioner, and a wider understanding of the UK regulatory environment.
  • Regulatory Risk: Excellent awareness of regulatory risk and control mechanisms.
  • Experience: Experience of working in regulatory functions within a financial / professional services firm, including knowledge of front-to-back trade flows and the management of control processes.
  • Skills: Strong analytical & data interpretation skills, the ability to drive and deliver projects/solutions, and advanced communication and influencing skills with stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
  • Legal Experience: Legal or paralegal experience is useful but not essential.
