Walsall Council, Casual Cleaners - Ref: EE06726

Salary

G2 £13.05 per hour

About the Role

We require hardworking, reliable, enthusiastic, and motivated cleaners to join our casual cleaners’ pool. You will need to be able to work independently and use initiative, while being part of a team.

In your role as a Casual Cleaner, you will ensure equipment is kept clean, well maintained, and in safe working order following Health & Safety requirements. We are committed to the training and development of all staff employed, so whether you are a cleaner with a little experience or would you like to be trained to be an exceptional Cleaner, we can help.

Casual Cleaners are required to cover premises across the Walsall Borough to ensure the required standards of cleanliness and presentation are maintained within our schools and outlying buildings. In return, we offer excellent pay, uniforms, and access to training.

You do not have to be available 5 days per week as a Casual Cleaner, but it is helpful to specify the days you are available.

If you are available to work early morning between the hours of 6.00 a.m. - 8.00 a.m. or afternoons from 3.00 p.m. onwards, Casual cleaning work is always available in Schools, Libraries, and Council Offices.

You will be required to undertake cleaning duties including mopping, polishing, and vacuuming, and previous experience in this type of work is desired. The successful candidate must also have an understanding of or be willing to train in the safe use of cleaning chemicals and machinery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
