Casual Commis Chef

Hours: Up to 40 hours, dependent on the needs of the business

Work Pattern: Includes Weekends, bank holidays and evenings

Duration: Permanent - Zero Hour Contract

West Midlands Safari Park is currently recruiting for Casual Commis Chef on our Venues and Lodges Section.

This role is essential for the smooth running of the kitchen and lodges and covers a wide range of tasks which essentially includes assisting with food preparation and service cycle delivery and stock management duties, ensuring operationally all lodges have all correct provision of service equipment are available form a food and beverage aspect and ensuring all kitchen cleaning jobs are carried out efficiently.

About you

The ideal candidate will have a "can do" attitude and will be able to undertake their own activities, whilst remaining on-hand to support the wider kitchen team. You will enjoy a varied workload, take pride in keeping things organised and well-presented and like to keep busy whilst on shift. You may have a desire to work as a chef or in a hospitality role and this is the ideal opportunity to get an insight into what it is like to work in the industry. The right candidate could even go on to progress through a development chef programme! You might have similar experience, which is always welcomed, or you might just come with the right mind-frame to do the job to the best of your ability. Either way, you will receive training and guidance from our kitchen and hospitality team. You will need to be flexible in your approach to work outside of standard business hours, including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.

What we are

West Midlands Safari Park is an award-winning visitor attraction, located in Worcestershire in the heart of England. It is home to some of the world's most beautiful and critically endangered species, with a four-mile Safari Drive, Safari Walk with a Discovery Trail, African Village and Lemur Woods, allowing guests to experience up close encounters with hundreds of amazing animals.
