Casual Events Crew – Technical Team Member

About Connexin Live Connexin Live is Hull’s largest live entertainment venue, seating up to 3,500 people. We host a range of events:

  • Corporate conferences & trade shows
  • Concerts & stand-up comedy
  • Family shows & sporting events
  • Exhibitions & large-scale exhibitions

The Role

We’re seeking Casual Crew to join our technical team on a part-time basis.


Responsibilities

Key tasks include assisting with:

  • Pre-event preparations for concerts, exhibitions, and live shows
  • Building and configuring venue stage systems tailored to each event
  • Installing crowd control barriers and queuing systems
  • Setting up floor seating arrangements
  • Operating our venue divider systems
  • Managing overnight changeovers to transform the space for different events
  • Supporting other departments and touring productions with operational requirements
  • Ensuring clear communication with staff and visitors

Requirements

Nice to have but not essential: ✅ Previous experience in the events industry ✅ Knowledge of sound or lighting systems

Essential:

  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills – professional interactions with all team members
  • Physical ability – tasks involve manual handling and operational work (shift patterns may include evenings/weekends)
  • Teamwork – enthusiasm to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Health & safety compliance – adherence to protocols at all times
