Role Overview

You’ll play a key role in shaping team culture, maintaining high operational standards, and driving performance across service, compliance, and safety. Whether it’s managing the floor during a sold-out event day, developing team members, or overseeing stock and licensing procedures – your focus will be on delivering excellence and building a motivated, service-driven team.

Day to Day Key Responsibilities

  • Team Culture & Leadership – Build a supportive, high-performing team environment with strong collaboration.
  • Team Development – Identify and nurture talent to help team members grow.
  • Performance Management – Hold honest conversations around performance, offer support, and take action when needed.
  • Bar Operations – Oversee the bar team to deliver fast, compliant, high-quality service, including managing licensing, allergen procedures, and legal paperwork.
  • Guest Experience – Ensure every table is checked by management, feedback is handled on the spot, and any serious issues are escalated to the Duty Manager.
  • Safety & Compliance – Maintain a safe, compliant environment through training, coaching, paperwork, and adherence to legal and company standards.
  • Event Setup & Close – Ensure the venue is fully prepared and closed down to a high standard, covering the bar, service stations, and tables.
  • Labour Management – Manage staffing levels to meet demand and control costs, reducing hours when appropriate.
  • Equipment Maintenance – Report any equipment issues promptly using the 24/7 form and notify the Duty Manager of urgent problems.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a hospitality environment (restaurants & bars).
  • Strong understanding of bar operations, licensing, and health & safety compliance.
  • Confident handling guest feedback and resolving issues calmly and professionally.
  • Comfortable using systems for reporting maintenance and ensuring paperwork is up to date.
