Casual Housekeeping Assistant

Are you a fan of routine and class yourself as a bit of a 'clean-freak'..? We are looking for someone to join our busy hotel Housekeeping department as a Casual Housekeeping Assistant; someone capable of ensuring the highest standards of efficiency and cleaning our bedrooms and public areas to the required brand guidelines – all of which we would like completed with a smile! Our guests stay 7 days a week so we do need someone who is available to work a variety of shifts. The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous hotel (or similar) Housekeeping experience with an understanding of cleaning to standards and the linen ‘life cycle’ through the hotel
  • Be confident to support the overall processes of the linen room i.e. administrative details, stock takes, guest laundry procedure etc.
  • Helping our guests - you’ll be happy to help if someone needs a toothbrush or directions!
  • Being organised & safety aware – follow established safety procedures at all times, and wearing protective equipment when needed. Keeping on top of supplies and amenities and always trying to minimise waste
  • Attending your shift on time and completing your daily duties i.e. collecting room keys and daily duty sheet, stocking work trolley for the day, cleaning rooms to the set standard, changing and replacing linen etc. The ideal candidate for this role would have:
  • Previous experience in a 4* hotel is desirable, although full training is provided
  • Good communications skills with a positive and energetic nature
  • It’s a physical role and you’ll be on your feet most of the day, so fitness is important
  • Flexible attitude to shifts – you may need to work weekends and/or public holidays About the Hotel Located in the heart of the Black Country, the Copthorne Hotel Merry Hill–Dudley sits peacefully overlooking the picturesque Canal Marina. The hotel offers 138 modern guest rooms that combine Standard, Club and Suite accommodation. Guests staying in Suites or Club rooms can enjoy ‘club benefits’ which include complimentary refreshments, a bathrobe, slippers, early check-in and late check-out. Faraday’s Restaurant is a modern and relaxed place to dine with a backdrop of the beautiful Canal Marina. The hotel provides 11 function rooms that cater for a variety of layouts such as boardroom, theatre, banquet and reception. The Earls Suite can cater for up to 600 guests and comes complete with a private entrance, reception, bar and cloakroom. All rooms feature audio-visual equipment and have Wi-Fi connectivity.
