Casual Registrar (Marriage/Civil Partnership/Citizenship Ceremonies) The Role
The Register Office is seeking casual registrars to support the expansion of its pool of staff who conduct marriage, civil partnership, citizenship, and non-statutory ceremonies across Coventry.

Key Responsibilities
This is an ad-hoc role, typically requiring work at weekends and during the busy summer period. As a casual registrar, you’ll:
- Conduct formal legal or non-statutory ceremonies in licensed venues.
- Champion inclusivity and ensure all ceremonies are conducted with accuracy, dedication, and professionalism.
- Display excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with diverse groups.
- Produce written work of a high standard ( certificates, documentation, etc.).
- Travel across the city by car—a valid UK driving licence is essential.
Requirements
- Right to Work in the UK (sponsorship for this role is currently not available).
- Reliability and trustworthiness to operate beyond normal working hours.
- Expert-level communication skills, including public speaking.
- Commitment to upholding community values of equity, diversity, and respect.
