Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our Sports Direct store in Orpington as Casual Sales Assistants. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced retail environment, delivering outstanding customer service whilst supporting the smooth operation of our store.

As a Casual Sales Assistant, you will be at the heart of the customer experience, helping shoppers find the right products and ensuring our store remains well-organised and inviting.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service, assisting shoppers with product selection and answering queries about our sports and fashion ranges
- Operate the till and payment systems accurately, processing transactions and handling cash with precision
- Maintain store appearance by restocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring merchandise is presented attractively
- Conduct regular stock checks and assist with inventory management to ensure product availability
- Support the team in meeting sales targets through positive engagement and product knowledge
- Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally, escalating issues where necessary
- Comply with health and safety regulations and store policies at all times
- Assist with store opening and closing procedures as required
- Contribute to a positive team environment through collaboration and mutual support

Qualifications
- Proven customer service experience in a retail or hospitality setting
- Ability to operate till systems and payment terminals confidently
- Strong communication and people skills with a friendly, approachable manner
- Excellent numeracy skills for handling transactions and stock management
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays (casual position)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and organisational skills
- Enthusiasm for sports, fashion, or retail products
Desirable:
- Previous experience in sports retail or fashion retail environments
- Problem-solving abilities and initiative in a busy retail setting
