Support Worker (Casual Relief Bank) – Day and Respite Services

Salary & Working Hours

  • Salary: £13.47 – £13.90 per hour (casual basis)
  • Hours: Flexible, dependent on Wiltshire Council’s requirements

About the Role: Riverbank & Meadow Lodge

Riverbank A day opportunity service supporting adults with learning disabilities five days a week, year-round. We empower customers to:

  • Identify their personal goals
  • Engage in a variety of activities both in-service and within the community

Meadow Lodge A respite service offering short breaks to adults with learning disabilities, helping customers:

  • Participate in meaningful, confidence-building activities
  • Maintain independence and well-being through close collaboration with families and carers

Key Responsibilities

As a casual relief bank support worker, you’ll help customers live with dignity, choice, and independence across both services by:

  • Supporting customers with personal care, daily living tasks, and household responsibilities
  • Planning and engaging in meaningful recreational and skill-building activities
  • Providing emotional, practical, and crisis support as needed
  • Assisting with financial task management and basic budgeting
  • Working across day and respite settings, incl. evenings, weekends, sleep-ins, and waking nights
  • Supporting customers in their homes or service settings as required

Requirements

Essential Criteria

  • Caring, patient, and committed to supporting adults with learning disabilities
  • Clear, effective communication and ability to collaborate with teams and individuals
  • Composure under pressure with a lenburg sense of problem-solving
  • Physically capable of performing all role duties
  • Willingness to learn, train, and continually develop skills

Completion of Administrative Tasks

  • Provide a full employment history (including gaps via this schedule)
  • Valid UK driving licence with access to a personal vehicle (or alternative transport arrangements)
