Overview

Exposure Management is a high profile and fast growing area of the Gallagher Specialty business. The team works closely with the London Energy and Power broking teams, along with the Gallagher US retail and London wholesale broking units and various worldwide Gallagher retail offices, to assist clients in managing their exposure data, using RMS and AIR catastrophe models to ensure clients have the correct cover in the correct locations. The role also involves the visualisation of data, and presenting it directly to clients.

We also work closely with Lloyds and London Market Insurers to provide exposure data and modeled losses on singular and at a portfolio level, which includes binders.

The Exposure Management team currently looks after 9 different business units, which includes but is not limited to, US Property D&F, Natural Resources, Livestock and International Property.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Play a key role in growing the Exposure Analytics and Catastrophe Modeling function within Gallagher Specialty which will involve taking responsibility for delivering exposure & cat modeling for the various business units we work with, with a focus on Energy, Power and Industrial risk
  • Help create new opportunities for the business through the expansion of client and carrier analytics
  • Perform a key role maintaining data warehouses and other systems that hold exposure, premium & claims information which enables Clients and Brokers to see exposure and modeled losses in real time
  • Perform quality control checks on all policies entered into the Exposure Management systems across multiple lines of business to ensure data accuracy
  • Ensure any errors found are rectified and the appropriate remedial training is given as required
  • Ensure standard operating procedures and minimum data quality standards are adhered to
  • Ensure internal and external KPI’s and SLA’s are met
  • Help shape and actively contribute to the exposure management strategy of Gallagher Specialty
  • Develop new initiatives in this exciting and fast growing area of the business

About You

  • Previous exposure management/cat modeling experience gained at either an insurer or broking house
  • Experience should include Natural Resources data capture and analysis (Onshore Energy, Power and Utilities, Renewables, Offshore Marine & Energy)
  • Knowledge of LMP slips & the Lloyds and London Insurance Market
  • Experience using Catastrophe Models, in particular RMS Risklink / Risk Modeler
  • Experience using the RMS and/or AIR Industrial Facilities Models
  • Technical understanding of data enrichment, manipulation and data cleansing best practices
  • Ability to work quickly and precisely with large data sets
  • A keen interest in data and Natural Catastrophes
  • Self-Motivated
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Proactive in finding solutions to problems without waiting to be prompted by others
  • Good MS office skills particularly Microsoft Excel and ideally Power BI
  • Knowledge of GIS software
  • SQL, Python or R programming knowledge is desirable but not essential
