Your new company
Our client is a leading global legal business seeking to expand its Catastrophic Loss team in Manchester. The firm is well recognised for delivering high-quality legal and claims solutions across insurance and complex litigation, with a strong reputation for handling high-value, technically challenging work. You'll be joining a collaborative and inclusive environment that supports career development and progression.
This is a retrain role for those with strong multi-track personal injury experience and strong academics. Applications are welcomed from claimant and defendant solicitors or chartered legal executives.
Your new role
This is an excellent opportunity for a Newly Qualified Solicitor or junior Solicitor to join a specialist catastrophic injury team. You will manage your own caseload of multi-track personal injury claims while also assisting on high-value, complex catastrophic loss matters, including brain injury, spinal injury, and fatal accident claims.
The role offers exposure to high-quality defendant work, primarily acting for insurers and large corporates, with strong supervision and development support.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
