Purpose of the role:
Category Buyer role is a crucial role in procurement and supply chain management within Harrier and is essential to the ongoing success of the business. The purpose of this role is to assist in providing a comprehensive procurement service to Harrier’s UK and Czech production operations. The Category Buyer’s key objectives are to manage specific product categories, ensuring Harrier obtains the best value while maintaining quality and meeting business objectives.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks
Category management
- Responsible for material requirement planning and ordering, for product categories, ensuring just in time deliveries.
- Stock control of product categories, liaising with Brand Management and Warehousing, forecasting on peaks and troughs.
- Management of product deliveries and prior notifications for warehousing and logistics.
- Managing alternative products, from QA sign off, samples and stock management.
- Assist with system data input and receipting of goods.

Supply chain management
- Management of supply chain relationship for the category’s products.
- Negotiate pricing with supply chain to obtain the best price, and quality products.
- Responsible for pricing matrixes for product categories.
- Maintaining relationships with current suppliers, whilst seeking new suppliers.
- Ensure that all procurement activity and tender requirements are in accordance with the company’s processes.
- Support the Senior Buyer with information for supply chain contracts and supply agreements.
