About the Role

This Finance Director position works closely with the Oral Health Category Head and the Category Leadership Team, including Operating Units (OU) Leads.

Your role involves delivering high-quality financial insights, performance tracking, and executive decision support by driving value creation from a Category perspective. This extends across:

  • Strategy, innovation, communications, and execution.
  • Leveraging brand-level insights, analysis, and disciplined resource allocation to sustain growth.

This is an excellent opportunity to build deep commercial and category finance expertise. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders—central teams, OUs, R&D, Supply Chain, and Finance—to ensure robust financial analysis, performance management, timely risk assessment, and opportunity identification.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Financial Leadership

  • Partner with the Category Head and Team to drive category sales growth, brand contribution, and value creation.
  • Lead category-and-brand financial performance management, including:
    • Margins, brand contribution analysis, resource allocation effectiveness.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights for:
    • Category strategy discussions and trade-offs.
    • Support across the fiscal year, including Integrated Growth Plans, Annual Business Plans, and in-year forecasting.

Performance Tracking & Decision Support

  • Track performance, update forecasts, and identify risks and opportunities:
    • Escalate critical issues and guide solutions.
    • Prepare Monthly Performance & Delivery Reviews (PRDs), consolidating insights on key drivers, variances, and trends.

Financial & Commercial Analysis

  • Produce clear, timely financial reports on:
    • KPIs (ROI, brand-market contribution, advertising and promotion [A&P] effectiveness).
    • Performance drivers and forward-looking outlooks.
  • Support impairment analysis for category/brand assets, ensuring pliance and transparency.

Business Cases & Growth Initiatives

  • Develop and evaluate category business cases and growth value cases:
    • Financial modelling, analytical support.

Inorganic & Portfolio Growth

  • Assist in innovation cases, licence deals, or M&A analysis for category inorganic growth opportunites.
  • Monitor brand contribution performance across the portfolio, underpinning prioritisation discussions.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years’ experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A) or finance business partner roles.
  • Strong track record of influencing senior commercial decision-making.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across non-finance stakeholders, catalysing strategic synergy regardless of differences in function, seniority or style.

Skills & Competencies

  • Data visualisation & communication: Articulate insights compellingly, engage senior stakeholders in trade-off discussions.
  • End-to-end P&L ownership within complex, matrixed organisations: Demonstrated ownership of performance management.
  • Strategic financial expertise, including:
    • Analysis, evaluation, forecasting, strategic planning, modelling.
  • Influencing & stakeholder alignment: Drive performance globally through collaboration and advocacy.
  • Subject-matter expertise: Ideally in FMCG or comparable industries, recognised as an authoritative expert.
