An exciting opportunity for an experienced Category Insights Manager to join a well-regarded, mission-driven food business operating across the UK & Ireland. This is a 12-month fixed term contract and represents a genuine chance to make a meaningful commercial impact at a pivotal moment in the company's growth journey.

This company operates across multiple food categories within FMCG. The category team sits at the heart of the commercial function, working closely with internal stakeholders and retail partners to shape strategy and drive long-term growth. The team is high-performing, collaborative and commercially focused - offering a fantastic environment in which to contribute and develop.

The Role

The Category Insights Manager will take ownership of internal category reporting and insight generation. This role is central to enabling better decision-making across the business - translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations and ensuring the wider team has the insight it needs to deliver against commercial priorities.

This is a role that calls for someone who is equally comfortable in the detail of data and confident communicating findings to senior stakeholders. The Category Insights Manager will play a key role in streamlining reporting processes, embracing new technology and helping the business navigate an ambitious period of change.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and deliver internal category insight and reporting, drawing on a broad range of EPOS, market and shopper data sources to generate clear, commercially relevant recommendations
  • Take ownership of dashboards and performance tracking, driving a more unified and consistent approach across categories
  • Manage relationships with external data and insight partners, ensuring data integrity and quality of output
  • Support the adoption of AI and new technology to streamline manual reporting and improve efficiency across the team
  • Analyse promotional and NPD performance to identify growth opportunities and inform category strategy
  • Act as a central point of contact for internal data queries, translating outputs into "so what" narratives that support decision-making at all levels
  • Support knowledge transfer and capability building across the wider category team throughout the contract period

Who We're Looking For

The successful Category Insights Manager will bring strong hands-on experience with leading retail and shopper data platforms, including Dunnhumby, Circana and Kantar WP. A background in a data or insight agency, supporting multiple clients or categories, would be particularly well regarded.

Beyond technical capability, this company is looking for someone with genuine commercial curiosity - a person who can move from raw data to meaningful insight, and who communicates with clarity and confidence. Strong cross-functional stakeholder management skills are essential, as is the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-moving environment.

Candidates with experience in grocery, FMCG or a retail customer-facing category role are encouraged to apply. Familiarity with category management principles and the ability to support customer-facing presentations would be an advantage.

Package

£50,000 - £60,000 + bonus + benefits
