Category & Insights Manager | North West | 12 Month FTC | £50,000 + benefits
An iconic British FMCG brand is looking for a Category & Insights Manager to join its commercial team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a newly created role, which matters more than it sounds. Nobody has left it behind with a fixed way of doing things, and the business has been clear that they'll shape it around whoever comes in and plays to their strengths.
You'd work directly with the Head of Category, finding distribution and whitespace opportunities across grocery, discounters and digital. Deep dive category analysis, promotional analysis, shopper understanding using Dunnhumby and Nectar360, and real influence over commercial decisions rather than producing reports for someone else to act on.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
