Category Lead – Property, FM & Logistics Category
Location: Hybrid to Peterborough or London (ideally 1-2 days per week)
Role Overview
We seek a commercially minded Category Lead to oversee Property, Facilities Management (FM), and Logistics categories. You will drive cost-efficient, service-compliant solutions while ensuring flexibility in our physical estate and supply chain operations. This role bridges strategy and execution—balancing procurement resilience, operational scalability, and regulatory compliance across all assets.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

StrategicProcurement Leadership Manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle across Property, FM, and Logistics, overseeing significant annual spend.

Real Estate Sourcing Develop leased and owned property procurement strategies to maximise utilisation and cost efficiency.

FM Services Procurement Procure hard and soft FM services to ensure high service standards, compliance, and operational seamless delivery.

Logistics & Distribution Optimisation Lead sourcing for logistics, warehousing, and distribution, focusing on efficiency and reduction of cost-to-serve.

Contract & SLAs Negotiate contracts and SLAs while enforcing supplier accountability and value-driven performance.

Process Enhancement Drive improvements in procurement processes and support systems adoption (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle).

Regulatory Alignment Ensure adherence to H&S (Health & Safety), ESG, and regulatory requirements.
Skills, Experience & Knowledge
Core Competencies
- Category Specialist: Experienced in real estate, facilities services, and logistics markets.
- Commercial Acumen: Proven track record in delivering cost savings and value-driver initiatives.
- Procurement Technology: Proficient in SAP Ariba, Coupa, or Oracle systems.
- Contract & Negotiation Mastery: Strong supplier negotiations and contract lifecycle management.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to align internal teams with procurement goals.
- Operational Excellence: Focused on process efficiency, scaling, and resilience.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in complex or regulated environments (e.g., regulated insurance, logistics, or energy sectors).
- Certifications: Preferred: CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent professional credential.
