This advert might look familiar (because it is)...

I am recruiting an amazing Category Manager role with a long term partner of mine, and they are on the hunt for their next Category Manager on a permanent basis managing some smaller but growing retail customers, as well as this role - a Category Manager on a 12 month FTC. This FTC role is to manage both some Retail customers as well as Foodservice. So if you are out of work or open to a 12 month role where you can add a lot of value from day 1, then click apply!

The role requires 1 day a week in their North Yorkshire offices. People tend to come as far as Manchester and the north West, as well as up in the North East. There is plenty of flex on offer with this amazing business!

Signature Career Management have exclusively partnered with a global blue-chip food company who are a household name in the frozen food category. With a history spanning well over 60 years, they are still going from strength to strength and have huge growth plans for the next 5 years. They are constantly adding exciting new products to their portfolio (with 4 new acquisitions over the last 3 years!) to build a diversified presence across multiple channels and categories. They are looking to bring on a Category Manager who is either an current Category Manager or a well experienced Category Executive. The main thing for them is that you are a conscientious, driven individual, with a growth mindset, who can be commercial and analytical at the same time. Having one without the other will not be enough for this role – you need to be able to analyse and interpret data, to then produce strong insights and effective story telling for both external retails as well as internal stakeholders. This role is adaptable based on your experience – there is potential for line management responsibilities!

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
