Job Description This is an excellent opportunity to join a team managing a diverse, global supplier base delivering critical indirect goods and services that underpin a complex manufacturing operation, on a large site supporting multiple business units. You will operate in a demanding environment, balancing varied spend categories, multiple stakeholders, and service‑based specifications with high expectations around performance, compliance, and value. Success will depend on your ability to work autonomously, define and drive sourcing strategies, and see objectives through to delivery in partnership with the wider business. Main Responsibilities Control of the sourcing strategy for a selected group of indirect commodities. You be given full autonomy to make changes to the supply base and drive improvements. Identify, benchmark and select new suppliers to deliver your sourcing strategy. Manage an established global network of suppliers and contracts to deliver against challenging project schedules. Establish contracts and framework agreements to ensure security of supply and delivery of improvements against KPIs. Identify alternative sources to reduce supply costs and improve quality. Implement and progress effective supplier development plans, yielding tangible improvements. Co-ordinate activities between the business and suppliers to improve performance aligned with operational and business priorities. Manage supplier performance, drawing on your experience and performance data to yield consistent improvements. Work with project teams to establish procurement requirements and ensure suppliers are managed to deliver against project milestones, specifications and objectives. Work closely with supplier quality assurance teams to ensure best quality parts are delivered to support production and issues are dealt with effectively and efficiently. Other Responsibilities Participate in or lead delivery of internal procurement projects or other related activities as required. Desired Experience, Skills and Qualifications Strong working knowledge of SAP would be highly advantageous. Specific commodity management experience Significant procurement experience in a highly technical, complex environment. Significant experience working in an indirect procurement environment Experience working in a manufacturing environment (preferably low volume / high mix). Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject would be advantageous. MCIPS qualifications would be advantageous. Working with excel to compile and evaluate data will be an important aspect of your role. MS Office proficient – Word, Excel, Access, Project, Visio, PowerPoint. Managing change in the right way. Global travel may be required.
