The role: What's in the Box

At HelloFresh, packaging is more than functional. It's part of how our customers experience every box we send. Our Packaging team is entering an exciting new phase, expanding its remit to look closely at the packaging surrounding our ingredients.

As Category Manager for Primary Packaging, you will report to the Director of Packaging and play a pioneering role in shaping a new category from the ground up. You'll work closely with our packaging design team on the broader redesign of our ingredient packaging across Europe, helping define both the strategy and the day-to-day of a brand-new function. If you enjoy building structure out of ambiguity and want ownership over something with real, visible impact, this role offers exactly that.

What you’ll do: The Recipe

  • Map the current landscape of primary packaging across our European markets, building visibility that doesn't yet exist
  • Source and develop a network of primary packaging suppliers, taking ownership of vendor selection, specifications, and ongoing relationships
  • Consolidate spend category by category, moving toward well-negotiated, transparent supplier partnerships
  • Collaborate with our packaging design team to elevate the look and feel of our ingredient packaging
  • Navigate varying packaging legislation across markets, working with stakeholders to find solutions that scale where possible
  • Partner cross-functionally with ingredient suppliers, category managers, and internal teams to align on packaging strategy and priorities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
