An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Category Manager to join a leading global engineering company. This strategic procurement role will be responsible for developing and delivering category strategies, driving supplier performance, and supporting long-term supply chain optimisation initiatives.

Working closely with engineering, operations, and business stakeholders, you will lead sourcing activities across a complex supplier base, identifying and qualifying new suppliers, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the organisation is positioned to support future programme growth.

Main Duties: Category Manager

  • Develop and execute category and sourcing strategies aligned to business objectives.
  • Identify, assess, qualify, and develop new suppliers.
  • Manage supplier relationships and drive continuous performance improvement.
  • Lead commercial negotiations covering contracts, pricing, lead times, and service agreements.
  • Support cost reduction and value improvement initiatives.
  • Optimise inventory performance across the procurement portfolio.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support supply chain and procurement transformation programmes.

The ideal will be able to demonstrate the following Category Manager

  • Proven experience in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Procurement within a manufacturing or engineering or equivalent environment.
  • Strong knowledge of PCBAs (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies).
  • Experience developing sourcing strategies and managing supplier selection processes.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable outcomes.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across suppliers and internal stakeholder groups.
  • Results-driven with a proactive and collaborative approach.
