About the Role
McCainers thrive on ambition, curiosity, and customer obsession. In this ecommerce category leadership role, you’ll shape strategies, drive growth, and innovate in fast-evolving digital retail.
Key Responsibilities
As Category Manager – Ecommerce Retail, you’ll:

Drive Ecommerce Category Leadership for Tier 1 Retailers:
- Craft insight-led category plans to accelerate growth with key ecommerce retailers, collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and Category Growth teams.
- Influence Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with data-driven recommendations aligning with commercial objectives.
- Partner cross-functionally to deliver practical, compelling, and impactful plans, expertly guiding projects for Tier 1 customers.
- Lead test-and-learn initiatives to refine digital media strategies and optimize ROI.

Build Activation Capability for Tier 2 and Tier 3 Customers:
- Develop customer-centric activation toolkits and training to enhance ecommerce team skills.
- Establish structured processes, tools, and reporting for Retail and Category Managers to execute strategies effectively.
- Align all activations to McCain’s ecommerce strategy, ensuring measurable value for both customers and the business.

Own Category Strategy for Pureplay Retailers:
- Tailor bespoke category strategies for online-first and pureplay retailers, leveraging agility and deep digital insights.
- Provide best-practice recommendations across media, assortment, and execution, grounded in ecommerce analytics and shopper behavior.

Shape Growth in Quick Commerce and Aggregator Channels:
- Identify and accelerate growth opportunities in emerging platforms like Quick Commerce and Aggregators.
- Build frameworks to prioritize resources and strategy in high-growth, fast-changing channels.

Lead Thinking on Ecommerce Technology & Retail Media:
- Act as the internal authority on AI adoption, digital technology, and retail media trends.
- Translate innovation opportunities into clear recommendations for the Commercial team, assessing risks and benefits of new tools.

Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in Category Management, Ecommerce, Digital Trading, or Data Analytics within FMCG/CPG or retail.
- Track record of delivering category growth through commercial and digital channel strategies.
- Strong data-driven analytical skills, including expertise with tools like Kantar, dunnhumby, Circana (IRI/Nielsen), and ecommerce analytics.
- Ability to communicate complex insights clearly, translating them into actionable strategies for diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to partner collaboratively across sales, marketing, category, and external retail teams.

Location & Work Flexibility
