Category Sourcing Manager – Real Estate/Property

As a Category Sourcing Manager, you’ll take a lead role in shaping how Nationwide sources, negotiates, and manages supplier relationships—balancing commercial excellence, strong governance, and compliance. You’ll drive strategic decision-making in sourcing, outsourcing, and supplier partnerships while adapting to evolving markets, technologies, and trends in financial services. Additionally, you’ll champion new ways of working, ensuring continuous innovation while respecting established processes.

For this role, you’ll primarily work from your nearest regional hub, with regular attendance at collaboration events. These events will occur monthly at our Swindon, London, or Glasgow offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted business partner—providing market insight, influencing decisions, and enabling smarter sourcing solutions.
  • Secure robust commercial agreements that align with Nationwide’s risk appetite, delivering optimal value for customers while mitigating risks.
  • Develop and leverage supplier partnerships to unlock new opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
  • Negotiate complex contractual frameworks, particularly in Property & Real Estate, balancing commercial, operational, and regulatory needs.
  • Draft and manage complex contracts while tracking the contract pipeline.
  • Analyse market trends to inform strategy and optimise sourcing outcomes.
  • Work at pace across multiple projects to deliver successful category strategies.

This role provides visible impact—optimising costs, mitigating risks, and enabling innovation across Nationwide.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

Essential Requirements:

  • Deep procurement and supply chain expertise—including category management (focused on Real Estate/Property), contract negotiation, supplier selection, and relationship management.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of delivering value-driven deals, particularly in regulated environments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills—ability to build trust and influence stakeholders across all levels of the business.
  • Analytical prowess to interpret complex market data, driving sound commercial decisions.
  • Solids knowledge of contract law and risk management, ensuring robust governance and resilience.
