Salary & Benefits
- £29,878.49 per annum (pro-rated) + excellent benefits
Work Schedule
- Full-time (40 hours per week)
- Monday – Friday, 8.30AM – 4.30PM
About the Role
As a Catering and Hospitality Team Leader in our Catering team, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering a safe, high-quality food service in a secure environment.
You’ll lead colleagues and support prisoner training while ensuring every meal adheres to required standards for quality, safety, and dignity.
By leading with care, professionalism, and pride, this role provides real purpose—supporting rehabilitation, maintaining structure, and fostering positive change. Your contributions will directly impact the welfare of individuals and the broader community, contributing to a better future.
Key Responsibilities
You will be entrusted with:
- Leading day-to-day operational management of the kitchen and hospitality services
- Ensuring meals are prepared, produced, and served in line with prison service standards within scheduled times
- Supervising, supporting, and training colleagues and prisoners in food preparation and catering standards
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, security, and food quality
- Managing meal planning, ordering, stock control, and production levels
- Supporting audits, proactively managing complaints, and upholding local catering procedures

Requirements
You’ll excel in this role if you have:
- Experience working in large-scale catering or a similar high-volume environment
- A strong understanding of food hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP principles
- Strong people skills, including the ability to:
- Lead, delegate, and coach others
- Work effectively in structured procedures and security-focused environments
- Basic IT skills, with the capability to maintain accurate records
Vetting Requirements
This role requires:
- Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance
- Additional security clearance (such as CTC or SC), including detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history
- Potential UK residency requirements may apply
You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to ensure you receive necessary support for the role.
