Catering Assistant

Catering Assistant at Cheshire Springs

About the Role

Are you looking for a catering job with a difference? Join us as our new Catering Assistant at Cheshire Springs care home in Ellesmere Port.

In this role, you’ll help the chef:

  • Prepare and cook food for the people we support
  • Set dining tables
  • Keep the kitchen clean

Meal times are an important part of our daily routine, and in this role you’ll ensure everyone has a positive dining experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to use your catering skills to make a real difference every day.

Position: Catering Assistant Care Home: Cheshire Springs Location: Chester Road, Whitby, Ellesmere Port, CH65 6RY Contract Type: Part-time – 10 hours per week (includes weekends) Hourly Rate: £12.71 per hour Care home CQC rating: Not yet inspected – opened June 2022

Key Responsibilities

Our Catering Assistants create delicious and nourishing meals for residents with diverse dietary requirements. Daily tasks include:

  • Assisting with basic food preparation
  • Maintaining kitchen cleanliness, including:
    • Washing up
    • Cleaning freezers
    • Mopping floors
  • Sanitising all diningware
  • Collaborating with the chef to develop:
    • Menus tailored to people’s preferences, needs, and dietary choices
    • Gathering feedback on meal quality
  • Ensuring strict compliance with food hygiene standards
  • Working effectively with the wider Catering Team
