General Assistant (Sat & Sun Shift – 11:00–19:30) – Catering Role

Shift Pattern

Saturday and Sunday 11:00–19:30


Key Responsibilities

Due to the nature of this dynamic role, your duties will include—but are not limited to—what follows:

  • Food Preparation

    • Assist with basic tasks such as peeling, chopping, trimming vegetables, and preparing sandwiches, salads and other catered meals.
  • Kitchen Hygiene & Maintenance

    • Maintain the cleanliness of kitchen areas and equipment, including:
      • Cleaning utensils, tableware and catering stations.
      • Ensuring storage areas remain organised and hygienic.
  • Delivery & Stock Management

    • Receive and unpack all deliveries efficiently.
    • Assist in stock organisation to keep food and supply areas tidy.
  • Front of House Support

    • Serve customers according to menus prepared by our chefs.
    • May also act as a host/waiter during events when needed.
  • Additional Duties

    • Reload and refill vending machine services as required.

What We’re Looking For

Ideal Experience & Qualifications

  • Additional industry experience in a commercial kitchen is valued but not essential.
  • A basic Catering & Hospitality certificate (e.g., Food Handling course or equivalent) is desirable if applicable—but not mandatory (training provided where needed).

Essential Competencies

  • Expertise in time management to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong organisation skills required due to fast-paced conditions.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (physical demands can be high).

Requirements for the Role

Mandatory

  • Confirmed Right to Work in the UK.

Strongly Preferred

  • Level 2 in Food Hygiene (training available if needed).
  • A proven track record of excellence in customer service.
