Catering Assistant
Position: Catering Assistant Care home: Wytham Lodge Location: Wytham Street, Padiham, Burnley, BB12 7DX Contract type: 20 hours per week Rate: £12.71 per hour
Are you looking for a catering job with a difference? Join us as our new Catering Assistant at Wytham Lodge care home in Burnley.
In this role, you’ll help the Chef to:
- Prepare and cook food for the people we support
- Set dining tables
- Keep the kitchen clean
Meal times are an important part of our daily routine, especially in care homes. In this role, you’ll ensure everyone has a positive dining experience at Wytham Lodge, a newlypurpose-built home where you can really make your mark.

Wytham Lodge is part of Exemplar Health Care, one of the UK’s leading nursing care providers.
Upon opening, the home will support adults living with acquired brain injuries, complex mental health needs, dementia, and physical disabilities.

Our Catering Assistants create delicious and nourishing meals for people with diverse dietary requirements.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with basic food preparation
- Maintaining kitchen cleanliness, such as washing up, cleaning freezers, and mopping floors
- Cleaning and sanitising all tableware
- Collaborating with the Chef to develop menus based on residents’ individual needs and preferences
- Interacting with residents to gather feedback on meals
- Ensuring food hygiene standards are met
- Working collaboratively as a team player in the wider Catering Team
