General Catering Assistant (Fixed Term, Covers Maternity Leave)
Woodbridge School Location: Marryott House, Burkitt Road, Woodbridge, Suffolk IP12 4JJ Salary: £12,760 per annum (pro rata), actual pay £11,935.18 per annum Hours: 24 hours per week, term-time only (34 weeks per year) Contract: Fixed-term, covering maternity leave (starting as soon as possible) Reference: 0797
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and motivated General Catering Assistant to join our Senior School Catering Team—a key role in supporting the smooth running of our busy and dynamic kitchen.
Reporting to the Chefs, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with day-to-day kitchen operations
- Ensuring high-quality food service for pupils, staff, and visitors
- Maintaining a clean, efficient, and welcoming catering environment

Candidates should have:
- A keen interest in food preparation
- A proactive, team-focused approach
- The ability to adapt to a fast-paced kitchen environment
- (Previous catering or customer-facing experience is beneficial but not essential—full training provided.)

Working Pattern
- 24 hours/week over 4 days, with variable shifts:
- Option 1: 2 × 9:00 am–3:00 pm or 10:00 am–4:00 pm
- Option 2: 2 × 12:30 pm–6:30 pm
- (Weekends: On a 1 in 4 basis)
