Hours & Contract
- Part-time, 20 hours per week
- Flexible hours available
- Permanent contract
Salary
- £25,949 per annum, pro rata (Grade 3)
- To increase subject to national pay award negotiations for 2026
About the Role
The Catering Assistant will play a key role in preparing and serving food, managing stock, and maintaining kitchen/dining room standards at our Training and Development Centre.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Preparation and service of food
- Assisting with catering requirements for events, training sessions, and daily operations

General kitchen and dining room duties
- Cleaning, setting up, and clearing equipment
- Tidying dining spaces
- Ensuring hygiene and safety standards

Stock management
- Picking up, putting away, and rotating stock
- Ensuring food safety procedures (maintaining records, checking expiration dates, adhering to health regulations)

Cash handling and financial administration
- Operating a till and reconciling transactions

Requirements & Qualifications
Essential Criteria
✔ Prior experience in a catering, canteen, or food service environment is desirable. ✔ Awareness of food allergies and dietary requirements. ✔ Commitment to maintaining high food hygiene standards.
Preferred Qualifications
🔹 Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- Training will be provided to successful candidates who do not already hold this qualification.
