We're looking for a Catering Assistant who will deliver excellent service standards, while meeting SLA agreements and adhering to cleaning schedules.
Contract: Permanent
Type of Employment: Part Time
Rate of Pay: £12.71 per hour
Shift pattern: including evenings and weekends
Location: Russells Hall Hospital, Pensnett Road, Dudley, West Midlands, England, DY1 2HQ
Successful candidates will primarily be based at Russell's Hall Hospital; however, flexibility is required as you may be asked to work at Guest Hospital and Corbett Hospital to support operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain retail outlets, restaurant areas, Starbucks counters and ward kitchens.
- Assist with meal ordering using electronic tablets and support patients with menu selections.
- Serve meals, drinks and refreshments while maintaining excellent customer care standards.
- Replenish stock, merchandise products and maintain attractive displays.
- Operate tills, process payments and follow cash-handling procedures.
- Clean equipment, utensils and working areas to meet hygiene and infection prevention standards.
- Work flexibly across multiple departments following full training.
- Follow all health & safety, food safety and company procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, colleagues and management teams.
- Support the delivery of high-quality hospitality across all outlets.

What We're Looking For
- GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent) are essential.
- Previous experience in hospitality, retail, coffee shops, restaurants or similar customer-facing environments is desirable.
- Comfortable using tablets and digital systems.
- Able to work in chilled preparation and storage areas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, organised and adaptable.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
