Catering Assistant

Join Braeburn House, part of Elysium Healthcare, as a Catering Assistant to help support vulnerable males in recovery from mental health illness. A full-time role (37.5 hours/week), reporting to the Head Chef, with a strong focus on teamwork, cleanliness, and community engagement.
About the Role
Catering Assistant (37.5 hours per week)
You’ll work with the kitchen team to prepare safe, nutritious meals in line with company policies, ensuring a clean, compliant working environment. There’s also the chance to interfacewith residents, staff, and visitors outside of the kitchen, creating a flavour of our vibrant workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities
As a Catering Assistant, you will:
- Assist catering staff in food preparation and meal service, adhering to company policies and procedures
- Serve meals to service users, staff, and guests
- Implement storage, hygiene, and waste techniques
- Maintain kitchen and appliance cleanliness to operational standards
- Collaborate with dietitians on tailored diet and meal planning
- Support supplier deliveries and stock management

Person Specification & Requirements
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Industry-specific catering qualifications (desirable)
- Working knowledge of COSHH and HACCP principles
- Experience in a similar hospitality or healthcare environment
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills (essential)
