Catering Assistant - Bank
Care Home: Tees Grange
Location: Norton, Stockton-on-Tees, TS20 2PH
Contract Type: Zero-hour contract (bank) to cover holidays and absence
Rate: £14.24 per hour

About the Role
In this role, you’ll:
- Assist the Chef to prepare and cook food for the people we support
- Set dining tables
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen
- Ensure a positive dining experience for all residents
Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality food while being an integral part of a caring team. Daily tasks include:
- Assisting with basic food preparation
- Cleaning and sanitising the kitchen, including washing up, cleaning freezers, and mopping floors
- Cleaning and sanitising all tableware
- Understanding residents’ dietary requirements to help the Chef develop suitable menus
- Gathering feedback from residents to improve meals
- Complying with all food hygiene standards
- Working collaboratively as part of the wider Catering Team
- Ensuring every meal is thoughtfully prepared and enjoyed

Requirements
You must:
- Have a keen interest in food and drink preparation
- Understand food hygiene standards
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene
- Be an excellent team player
- Be adaptable and flexible
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills
