Salary: £12.85 to £13.05 per hour (Grade 3, pay pending award)
Hours/Days: As and when needed
Contract Type: Casual
Location: Clay Cross Active, Clay Cross, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S45 9LX

About the Role
North East Derbyshire District Council manages excellent leisure centres, including its welcoming café services at Clay Cross Active. This new community hub focuses on fostering physical and mental activity, health, learning, social interaction, and development.
We’re seeking an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to bolster our café team. The role involves serving customers, maintaining hygiene standards, managing stock, and ensuring a seamless customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling café operations, including serving diverse customers of all ages
- Upholding high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety (Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate required post-appointment)
- Controlling and managing stock effectively
- Delivering excellent customer service and engagement

Requirements
- Holds or commits to obtaining a Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety for Catering Certificate (not mandatory at application stage)
- Experience or understanding of catering environments and mixed-age service
- Ability to adapt and work across multiple team locations as needed
- Submission of a DBS Check (Basic Level)
