An exciting opportunity has arisen to join award-winning Derbyshire Catering Service.
About the Role
Are you passionate about food and enjoy working as part of a team? We are currently recruiting for a Catering Assistant to support and contribute to Gorseybrigg Primary School’s dedicated kitchen team based at Balmoral Crescent, Dronfield, S18 8ZY.
Under the guidance of the kitchen supervisor, you will provide essential assistance across catering operations. This role involves flexible duties, including:
- Operating at production units or serving units
- Food preparation and cooking
- Maintaining portion control
- Ensuring allergen compliance
- Preparing dining areas for service

Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the preparation and cooking of meals
- Handling portion control, packaging, and meal presentation
- Upholding strict food hygiene standards and health & safety regulations
- Serving meals to pupils in a professional, courteous manner
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation within dining spaces
- Representing the team with a school-friendly attitude

Essential Requirements
- A strong team player mentality with a passion for catering
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic school environment
- Commitment to adhering to strict health & safety and food hygiene regulations
- Willingness to physically support all duties in a fast-paced kitchen
