Catering Assistant – High Haven Care Home
Location: Downham Market – PE38 9AG
Pay: £13.31 per hour
Hours: 21 hours per week
Shift Pattern:
- Week 1: Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday*
- Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday*

A Day in the Life
As a Catering Assistant at High Haven Care Home, you will:
- Be an integral part of the resident’s home through daily interaction, not just during mealtimes but throughout the shift.
- Support the wider catering team with food preparation, ensuring an inclusive and interactive dining experience for all residents.
- Work towards our mission of making nutrition available to all, including those with eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties.
- Contribute to the social and health benefits of dining, reinforcing the well-being of residents.
- Maintain high hygiene and cleanliness standards, including:
- Setting up service areas (kitchen or dining spaces) before mealtimes
- Ensuring areas are tidied away post-service

We welcome both experienced and newcomers to catering roles. While previous catering experience is advantageous, our team is invested in training candidates who:

About High Haven Care Home
High Haven Care Home, based in Downham Market’s community, offers:
- Short-term and full-time care, with expert support for residents living with dementia.
- A focus on person-centred care, with residents enjoying:
- Their own rooms
- Communal living rooms and dining spaces
- Large gardens and a varied programme of activities
- An emphasis on welcoming visitors and remaining part of the Downham Market and West Norfolk community.
